Innovation Motion Ferrovial, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Ferrovial Innovation Awards

Because we strongly believe that good ideas can emerge from anywhere within our company we have launched the Zuritanken competition which invites all Ferrovial employees to participate in the Ferrovial Innovation Awards.

MIT

Ferrovial Agroman and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology have joined forces to participate in and lead the transformation of the world's cities and critical infrastructures of the future. The six year collaboration began in 2011.

Ferrovial Executives are members of the Governing Board and, on a rotating basis, Executive Committee of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology Energy Initiative (MITEI).

This combination of multidisciplinary talent across our business and MIT's departments and schools, offers great richness for research and advances in the fields of intelligent infrastructure, transport, and energy efficiency in buildings and cities.

In addition, Ferrovial personnel are designated as project leads to work alongside MIT researchers in managing project execution, facilitating the exchange of knowledge between the two organizations.

This collaboration of multi-disciplinary talent began with a pioneering study into the "Assessment of ground movements due to tunnel excavation and the effect on adjacent constructions".

The aim of this research is to develop and validate advanced constitutive models, paying special attention to the properties of clay, and simplified analysis methods to assess the risk of damages caused by tunnels on adjacent buildings.
